NORTHWOOD’S JOE SHAW NAMED AS 2015-16 NISCA/SPEEDO BOYS WATER POLO ALL-AMERICAN, HONORABLE MENTION

This past 2015-16 boys water polo season, Joe Shaw stood out both offensively with 102 goals and defensively with 72 steals. Additionally, Joe added 37 assists and 55 drawn ejections. For his strong efforts, Joe earned 1st Team Pacific Coast All-League and Northwood High School’s Boys’ Water Polo Co-MVP.

More recently, Joe was named one of the 2015-16 All American, Honorable Mention players. Joe was 1 of 2 Pacific Coast League water polo players on the entire list of All-Americans and was also the only water polo player from Irvine listed.

Joe is preparing for the upcoming 2016 Junior Olympics with his club team, SOCAL, and is entering into his SR year at Northwood HS for the 2016-17 season.

COACH KYLE’S THOUGHTS ON JOE:
Joe is a natural shooter and plays smart defense as well – he’s truly one of the best all-around players in Orange County and has now been recognized as one of the best players nationally as well.

I’m looking forward to this upcoming season with Joe stepping up not only as a player but more importantly as a team leader for our squad of younger players.
